LSRS is an NGO that serves as an open platform for dialogue and action for Romanian students and graduates all over the world. Its community has over 8000 members in more than 50 countries.
The LRSR project was born in 2008 in order to supply a much needed service: a space for information and communication for the growing number of students and alumni choosing to pursue their careers, academic or otherwise, outside Romania.
LSRS works relentlessly to publicize the merits and accomplishments of Romanian students, both at home and abroad, and highlight examples of professionalism and competence.
The organization has a strong online presence (LSRS forum, Facebook, a network of blogs) and fosters direct interaction between its members through offline events hosted by the central body and the 33 subsidiaries across the globe.
It also offers academic advice to young Romanians wishing to pursue academic endeavors abroad, and connects prospective students, current students, and alumni through large online platforms (Go Study, LSRS Wiki).
Among their most prolific projects is SMART Diaspora, a strategy which tackles the phenomenon of brain-drain by attracting highly-skilled young people back into the country so that they may contribute to the social and economic development of Romania. You can read more about it here (Romanian).
Moreover, the NGO’s affiliated think-tank, C.A.E.S.A.R., is highly active in preparing networking events, colloquiums, establishing international academic collaborations, and publishing. Hundreds of highly-skilled young Romanians are involved with the think tank. Its website can be accessed here.
Needless to say, we are thrilled about the collaboration with LSRS and we invite you to visit their website!
